Multispectral drone orthoimagery of sclerophyllous and deciduous forests in La Campana National Park, Chile, January 2024

[This dataset is embargoed until March 31, 2027]. This dataset comprises multispectral orthoimagery acquired from six drone flights over sclerophyllous and deciduous forest in La Campana National Park, located in the Mediterranean bioregion of central Chile, conducted in January 2024. Raw images were processed in Agisoft Metashape following a standard structure-from-motion workflow: images were first aligned to estimate camera positions and generate a sparse point cloud, followed by the construction of a dense point cloud for detailed surface reconstruction, and finally generating the five-band orthomosaics (Blue, Green, Red, Red Edge, Near-Infrared) at high spatial resolution. These data were collected to quantify drought-induced canopy defoliation and forest structural degradation following extreme Hyperdrought events in 2019 and 2021. This resource is intended for researchers studying climate change impacts on Mediterranean-type ecosystems, remote sensing applications in forest ecology, and drought-induced mortality mechanisms.
